About Rene

I was born in Santa Ana California, and am the fourth of six kids. My family moved about six months later to Vancouver, Washington. We moved again when I was 8 to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where I graduated from high school. I attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in elementary education. At Brigham I experienced one of my greatest adventures: a semester abroad in New Zealand. The first word that I think of to describe myself is shy, especially when it comes to meeting new people. I don’t always know what to talk about at first, but if the right conversational topic comes up I could keep going like the energizer bunny! Once people get to know me I typically become known as a little strange and goofy. I like that quality about myself. Some examples of this may be the way I bust a move when a favorite song comes on the radio or gets in my head no matter where I am, especially in the car! Dave says one of the strangest things about me is when I get together with my brothers and sisters and apparently we speak in movie quotes. It could be the fact that I still get excited about going to places like Chuck E. Cheese’s! I think I love being silly because it keeps things light and makes coping with life’s challenges a little easier, and because most times I get to make someone smile. I love to play boardgames; some of my favorites are Settlers of Catan, Yahtzee, Scattergories, Scrabble, Aggravation, and almost any card game. Other activities that I enjoy are watching movies, bowling, mini golf, softball and amusement parks when I get the chance. I also love the activity I most recently started, which is volunteering for the 100 Club of Arizona. The truth is I have fun doing almost anything; the key is to be in good company. Dave is my favorite company, and I know he will be an awesome dad just like he is an awesome husband.
